Dear friends and supporters,
To say we are living in unprecedented times is an understatement. The world, our country, and Lewis County are gripped by a crisis that is unfolding every day. Like so many non-profit organizations across our nation, we are providing essential fundraising and granting funds to help with an urgent response.
We are faced with indefinite school and business closures, isolation, and the threat of contagion. We thought the shutdown would be a few weeks, but it could now be several months. Too many children and families here are in our communities are in jeopardy and need our help.
Our Board is working quickly to determine the best course of action. A fund advisory committee made up of members from our Board, and City and County representatives in a position to be familiar with local needs, will make grant recommendations for distributing our support. Our plan is to work with the command centers in our county who deliver needed supplies and services to those that have relied on institutions and schools that are suddenly not able to provide in the same ways as before.
Now is the time for all of us to demonstrate our support for our neighbors, our community, and our home. Please help us help our community in a time of crisis. Consider making a gift right now.
